How did you get into swimming, and when did you first realize that you wanted to take the sport more seriously?

There wasn’t one specific moment in my life when I suddenly decided that I wanted to pursue swimming seriously. I’ve loved the sport from the very beginning, and I’ve always taken my training seriously from day one. Instead, there were several moments along the way that made me realize how much swimming meant to me.

One of the most defining moments came two years ago when I won the 200-meter individual medley in my age category at the Hungarian National Championships. That night, I was so full of adrenaline that I couldn’t sleep at all. I just lay there thinking for hours. Eventually, I realized that while winning and standing on top of the podium felt incredible, my connection to swimming was much deeper than that. I understood that what I truly love is the sport itself, and I want to keep pursuing it with complete dedication for as long as my body allows me to.

When did you decide that you wanted to study and swim in the United States, and why did you choose this path? Which university will you attend, and what will you study?

After several of my teammates continued both their athletic careers and their studies in the United States, it became clear to me that if I wanted to compete at a high level, America was the best—and perhaps the only—path for me.

In the end, I chose Seton Hall University because I was impressed by the head coach’s ambitious vision for the future of the team and the way he plans to achieve those goals. In addition, the university offers a strong finance program, which perfectly aligns with my academic goals.

Who has played the biggest role in helping you get to where you are today?

First and foremost, my parents, who have supported me every step of the way, and my coach, who has always been by my side.

How did Study N Sport help you throughout the process?

Study N Sport helped me find the perfect university and was always available to answer my questions and support me throughout the entire process.

What has been the biggest challenge on your journey toward studying in the U.S., and what are you most looking forward to about life and swimming there?

Choosing the right university was not easy, as there are so many factors to consider when making such an important decision. Fortunately, we found the one that was the perfect fit.

What are your biggest goals as both a swimmer and a student in the United States?

Every athlete dreams of competing in the Olympic Games, and I’m no exception. I truly believe that the work I put in during my time in the United States will pay off.

As for my studies, my expectations for myself haven’t changed. They have always been high, and they will continue to be, because everyone should have a Plan B.

What message would you like to share with young swimmers who are considering studying and competing in the United States?

I would tell them not to be afraid. If they believe they have a chance to continue their career in the United States, they should go for it. It’s far better to try and fail than to never try at all and spend the rest of your life wondering, “What if?

And if the American dream doesn’t turn out the way they imagined, or they don’t feel happy there, it’s not the end of the world. They can always come home. No matter what happens, they will return with a lifetime of experience, greater confidence, and memories that no one can ever take away from them.
