What sport do you compete in, and which university are you attending in the United States?
I compete in soccer, and I will continue both my athletic career and my studies at Sewanee: The University of the South.
How did you feel when you found out that you had been accepted?
I believed all along that I would be accepted, but as the decision day got closer, I couldn’t help thinking, “What if it doesn’t work out?” When I received the email, I was at school. I read it, and suddenly everything else disappeared from my mind. Tears came to my eyes. I could hardly believe that this opportunity had truly become a reality for me.
The first thing I did was call my parents to share the news. Then I went to find my geography teacher, because he—along with many others—had supported and encouraged me throughout this journey.
What is your biggest goal in the United States, both as an athlete and as a person?
As an athlete, I want to reach the highest level possible. My goal is to become the best version of myself and give 100% in every match. I believe the best way to achieve my ultimate goal is by setting smaller, well-planned milestones and working toward them step by step.
As a person, I hope to leave a positive impression on everyone I meet. I would like people to have a positive image not only of me, but also of Hungary and the Hungarian people.
What advice would you give to athletes who are thinking about pursuing a sports scholarship in the United States?
If you have the opportunity, I truly believe this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Be brave and go for it! If, for any reason, you find that it’s not the right fit for you or it becomes too challenging mentally, emotionally, or physically, you can always come back home.
But if you’ve seriously considered this path, I don’t think that feeling is there by accident. Trust it and follow your dream.
Who has played the biggest role in your success?
First and foremost, my family. They have always known what my dreams and goals were, and they supported me even when those dreams seemed impossible to achieve.
My father was at almost every one of my matches. He always shared his thoughts and experiences with me and supported me not only from the sidelines but behind the scenes as well. My mother and the rest of my family quietly provided the strong foundation I could always rely on.
I’m also incredibly grateful to my former clubs—Bolha FTSE, Budai FC, Vasas Kubala Academy, and Érdi VSE—where I developed both as a player and as a person.
Among my coaches, I would especially like to thank Attila Kaszás, László Kovács, József Aradi, Tamás Helm, Szilárd Sztancsek, János Tóth, and Attila Domján, but I’m grateful to everyone I’ve had the chance to work with. Every single person has contributed to making me who I am today.
Why would you recommend Study N Sport to other young athletes?
Because they are reliable, professional, and extremely thorough in everything they do. They help with every step of the process, and they always have the answers to your questions. You can truly rely on them, and they’re willing to help even with challenges that go beyond the scope of their official responsibilities.
You can count on them every step of the way.
What are you looking forward to the most in the United States, outside of sports?
First of all, I can’t wait for the soccer season to begin so I can finally represent my university and experience what it feels like to compete for my school.
I’m also excited to study a subject that I’m genuinely passionate about.
Beyond that, I think the idea of freedom will take on a whole new meaning for me. I can’t wait to travel, experience the American lifestyle, and immerse myself in a culture that is completely different from the one I’ve known at home.
We want to get to know you better
