What sport do you compete in, and which university are you attending in the United States?

I’ve been playing water polo as a goalkeeper for almost 14 years. This year, I earned an athletic scholarship to the University of the Pacific.

When and how did the idea of studying in the United States first come to you?

I’ve wanted to continue both my athletic career and my education in the United States for quite some time. I believe it’s an incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and take everything I’m working toward to the next level.

How did you feel when you found out that you had been accepted?

I was already incredibly excited when the coach first reached out to me because I had heard so many great things about both the university and the team. After our first conversation, I was filled with excitement and happiness, and I hoped the coaches had the same positive impression of me. Thankfully, they did, and they placed their trust in me for the years ahead.

What is your biggest goal in the United States, both as an athlete and as a person?

As an athlete, I want to focus on improving my game and becoming a valuable member of my team. I hope we’ll share many unforgettable moments and celebrate great successes together over the coming years.

As a person, I want to continue growing, become highly fluent in English, and learn as much as I can, because I believe learning is one of the most important things in life.

What advice would you give to athletes who are thinking about pursuing a sports scholarship in the United States?

My advice is to be brave enough to take the leap, even if it seems intimidating at first. An opportunity like this is too special to pass up—it truly is a dream come true. Always strive to improve and aim to be a little better every single day than you were the day before. If you do that, I’m sure you’ll experience some of the best years of your life.

Who has played the biggest role in your success?

First and foremost, my family. A loving family provides the foundation that allows a person to grow and be happy. I’ve been incredibly fortunate because they have always stood by me and given me every opportunity to become the best version of myself.

I’m also deeply grateful to my coaches, who believed in me and supported me throughout my journey. I owe all of them a great deal.

Why would you recommend Study N Sport to other young athletes?

I would highly recommend Study N Sport to any young athlete. They are incredibly supportive, and throughout the entire process, I never once felt like I was on my own. They genuinely care about every athlete and are always there to help whenever you need them. I have nothing but positive things to say about them, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who dreams of studying and competing in the United States.

What are you looking forward to the most in the United States, outside of sports?

I’ve never been to the United States before, so I’m really excited to experience the culture and meet new people. It’s such a diverse country, and I know there will be so much to explore. I’m looking forward to getting to know my new team, my coaches, the campus, and all the opportunities that await me. I’m sure many things will be different from what I’m used to at home, and that’s exactly what makes this adventure so exciting.
