What sport do you compete in, and which university are you attending in the United States?

I’m a water polo player, and I have earned admission to the University of the Pacific.

When and how did the idea of studying in the United States first come to you?

The idea crossed my mind several times, but we only started taking it seriously last summer. After a preseason tournament, one of the coaches from my current team approached me and told me that he liked the way I played and wanted to work with me.

How did you feel when you found out that you had been accepted?

It was an incredible feeling—a dream came true. I felt that all the hard work I had put in over the past 12 years, both in water polo and in school, had finally paid off.

What is your biggest goal in the United States, both as an athlete and as a person?

As an athlete, my biggest goal is long-term development. I feel that the sporting mentality in the United States suits me very well, making it the perfect environment to improve and reach the next level.

As a person, my goal is to settle into everyday life as quickly as possible, meet as many new people as I can, and successfully overcome the challenges that come with this new chapter of my life.

What advice would you give to athletes who are thinking about pursuing a sports scholarship in the United States?

To anyone considering this path, I would say: don’t hesitate. It’s an incredible opportunity. Life in the United States is extremely diverse, so everyone has the chance to find their own path and pursue their own goals. You’ll also gain unforgettable experiences by discovering new places and meeting people from all over the world.

Who has played the biggest role in your success?

First and foremost, my mother and my siblings, who have supported me every step of the way throughout my journey. I’m also grateful to the many coaches and friends who have helped me achieve my goals.

What are you looking forward to the most in the United States, outside of sports?

What I’m looking forward to the most is playing so many matches. It’s going to be amazing to compete several times almost every weekend and experience such a busy championship schedule.

I’m also excited to travel around the United States and visit places I had only seen in movies as a child. I’ve already enjoyed spending time with my teammates outside of training, and I’m looking forward to creating even more unforgettable memories together. It’s also incredibly inspiring to experience so many new things and build meaningful relationships in this new environment.
