How did you get started in basketball, and when did you first realize you wanted to pursue the sport more seriously?

I started playing basketball in Budapest when I was still in kindergarten. My older sister also played basketball, so I often went to watch her games, and that’s how I fell in love with the sport. After a while, I wanted to try it myself, and that’s how my basketball journey began.

I think I first realized I wanted to take basketball more seriously when I moved to Pécs and was invited to join the Rátgéber Academy. There, I entered a much more professional and competitive environment, and that’s when I understood that basketball could become much more than just a hobby.

When did you decide that you wanted to study and play basketball in the United States, and why did you choose this path? Which university will you attend, and what will you study?

I have always been fascinated by life in the United States. As I saw more and more people I knew moving there to study and compete in sports—and how much they enjoyed the experience—I became increasingly determined to follow the same path.

About two or three years ago, I started seriously thinking about what I wanted to do after high school. I chose this path because I believe an American athletic scholarship is an incredible opportunity for any athlete. It allows you to pursue both academics and sports at a high level while continuing to develop in every aspect of life. The adventure, the new challenges, and the opportunity for personal growth all motivated my decision.

I will be studying in Dallas, Texas, at Collin College, where I will major in Business Administration and Management.

Who has played the biggest role in helping you reach this point?

Above all, I owe my success to my family. They supported me throughout this entire journey and stood by me during the most challenging moments. I am also incredibly grateful to my friends, who always encouraged me and gave me strength.

I would also like to thank the coaches and staff at the Rátgéber Academy in Pécs. Without them, I would never have gained the knowledge, experience, and foundation that allowed me to reach this level.

How did Study N Sport help you throughout the process?

The Study N Sport team supported me throughout every stage of the journey. Whenever I had doubts or questions, I could always rely on them for quick and helpful advice. They took a great deal of the administrative burden off my shoulders and guided me toward making the best possible decisions.

Overall, they made the entire process of pursuing an American university education much smoother, clearer, and less stressful.

What has been the biggest challenge on your journey to becoming a student-athlete in the United States, and what are you looking forward to most about life and basketball there?

I believe one of the biggest challenges was learning to be patient. I had to understand that this is a long process and that things don’t always happen the way you initially expect. I experienced several rejections, but instead of seeing them as failures, I treated them as opportunities to improve and find the path that suited me best. Looking back, I truly believe I ended up with the best possible opportunity.

The university application process and all the administrative requirements were also challenging, but they taught me a great deal.

What I look forward to most is continuing to grow, discovering new opportunities, experiencing American culture, building new friendships, and gaining valuable life experiences. As a basketball player, I want to prove why I was recruited and give my very best every single day on the court.

What are your biggest goals as both a basketball player and a student in the United States?

As a basketball player, my primary goal is to have a successful season both individually and as part of the team. I will be joining a junior college that is considered one of the favorites to compete for the championship, so I want to contribute as much as possible to the team’s success and help achieve our goals.

As a student, I want to make the most of my college experience. My priorities are to succeed academically, continue developing as a person, and fully experience life on an American college campus. I also hope to gain valuable knowledge and life experiences that will benefit me long after my basketball career.

What advice would you give to young basketball players who are considering studying and competing in the United States?

My advice would be to dream big and never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. At first, such a decision can seem overwhelming because you’ll be moving to a completely new environment far from home. However, it is an incredible opportunity and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

There will certainly be challenges along the way, but those challenges will help you grow. So don’t be afraid to take the leap, stay open to new experiences, and believe that hard work and perseverance will ultimately pay off.
